As you might imagine, having multiple locations and more than fifteen years experience with the Salon Suites concept, we receive many calls and emails asking us about the feasibility and profitability of the concept. Based on these inquiries, brother Doug Patrick started casually offering consulting to folks who were interested in pursuing the opening of their own Salon Suites concept back in 2011.

Today, Doug has consulted multiple dozens of separate groups by creating a two-day comprehensive program that includes a training manual along with a tour of several of our existing properties. Although Doug makes it clear that he is not a full-time consultant, he enjoys providing the training to those interested in the concept but who do not wish to go the way of the franchise which all include a monthly royalty or “the gift that keeps on giving” as Doug likes to say.

The two-day program is broken into eight separate categories that include:

  1. Property
  2. Owning vs leasing, site selection, lease negotiation, etc.
  1. Financials
  2. Formulas, expense percentages, pro-formas, etc.
  1. Construction
  2. Floor planning, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.
  1. Marketing
  2. Do’s and don’ts, website, direct mail, promotions, etc.
  1. Beauty Industry
  2. Equipment, industry players, sales rep relationships, etc.
  1. Leasing
  2. Applications, leases, suite options, do’s and don’ts, etc.
  1. Operations
  2. Management, Maintenance, Vendors, paperwork, etc.
  1. Competition
  2. Local salons, franchise concepts, commission vs. booth rent, etc.

The one-day program is simply an abbreviated version of the training.
